What is a crystal grid?
A crystal grid is an arrangement of stones in a sacred-geometry pattern, set with one intention, so the stones work together rather than alone. This free generator computes yours from your Life Path number, your Chinese five-element (五行) phase, and your goal, choosing the geometry, the stones, the placement, and the activation timing for you.
What your grid will tell you
- Your power stone: the centre crystal chosen for your intention and your numbers.
- Your sacred geometry: the layout, from the hexagram to the warded shield, matched to your goal.
- Your placement and timing: the best direction to set the grid, and when to activate it.
- A grid you can actually build, drawn from a curated palette of widely-available crystals.

How your grid is computed
Most crystal-grid guides hand you a generic layout. This one is built from you. In my practice, the grids that hold are the ones tuned to the person, not just the goal. Three layers go into yours. Your Life Path number sets the rhythm of the outer ring. Your Chinese five-element (五行) phase, from your birth year, decides which element your chart leans on and which one nourishes it, so the grid weaves in a balancing stone, not just stones for the goal. And your intention chooses the master stone and the sacred geometry, a hexagram for abundance, a rosette for love, a warded shield for protection.
Your numbers
Your Life Path sets the rhythm of the outer ring.
Your element
Your five-element (五行) phase adds a balancing stone.
Your intention
Your goal chooses the master stone and the geometry.
Every stone is drawn from a curated, widely-available palette, so the grid you see is one you can truly build. When you are ready, the full reading gives you the room-by-room placement, the new-moon and full-moon timing in your own timezone, your daily practice, and a kit list of exactly which stones and how many. What is a crystal grid?
A crystal grid is a deliberate arrangement of stones laid out on a sacred geometry pattern and set with a single intention. In crystal tradition the geometry is believed to link the stones into one energetic circuit, so they amplify and focus a shared purpose rather than working alone. A grid has three parts: a centre stone, often a Clear Quartz point, the classic generator that gathers and projects the energy; a ring of surrounding stones chosen for the goal; and the geometric pattern beneath them that ties the whole thing together. People build grids to hold an intention for abundance, love, healing, or protection, somewhere they will see it every day.
How do you make a crystal grid?
Whether you use the generator above for the plan or lay one out from scratch, building a grid by hand follows the same six steps. In my practice it goes like this:
- 1
Cleanse your space and your stones
Clear the surface and the stones first, with smoke, sound, or a quiet moment of intention, so the grid starts from a clean slate.
- 2
Name one intention
Choose a single, specific purpose and say it aloud. A grid that tries to do everything focuses nothing.
- 3
Place the centre stone
Set your generator or master stone, often a Clear Quartz point, at the heart of the pattern. This is the anchor that gathers the energy.
- 4
Lay the surrounding stones on the geometry
Working from the centre outward, place the supporting stones on the points of the sacred-geometry pattern, keeping the layout symmetrical.
- 5
Connect and activate the grid
Trace from stone to stone with a finger or a Clear Quartz point to link them into one circuit, holding your intention as you go.
- 6
Leave it where you will see it
Set the finished grid in the room or direction that matches your goal, and refresh the intention each day.
How do you activate a crystal grid?
Activating a grid means connecting the stones so they read as one. Hold your intention, then use a Clear Quartz point or your finger to draw an invisible line from the centre stone out to each surrounding stone and back, the way you would connect the dots, until every stone is joined. Many people activate on a new moon to plant an intention or a full moon to amplify one. The full reading gives the exact lunar and planetary-day timing for your own grid; if you are building by intuition, simply choose a quiet moment and trust it.
Crystal grid layouts and sacred geometry
The pattern beneath the stones is what makes a grid a grid. Different layouts carry different reputations in the tradition, and this generator selects the form that suits your intention from seven sacred-geometry shapes:
Flower of Life
The six-petal rosette, the classic all-purpose layout, often chosen for love and harmony.
Hexagram
The six-pointed star, traditionally tied to abundance and balance.
Triangle
For focus, manifestation, and a single clear goal.
Warded shield
A double ring, associated with protection and strong boundaries.
Septagram
The seven-pointed star, linked to intuition and spiritual work.
Which crystals work best in a crystal grid?
The centre stone does the heavy lifting, and a Clear Quartz point is the traditional all-purpose generator because it is believed to amplify whatever it is paired with. From there, the surrounding stones are chosen for the goal:
- Citrine for abundance and confidence.
- Rose Quartz for love and the heart.
- Black Tourmaline for protection and grounding.
- Amethyst for calm, clarity, and intuition.
Quartz is a silicon-dioxide mineral prized in crystal work for its clarity, and the Flower of Life it is often laid on is one of the oldest motifs in sacred geometry. The generator above turns these choices into a finished grid for your numbers and your intention in seconds, so you can build with confidence instead of guesswork.

Frequently asked questions
What is a crystal grid?
A crystal grid is an arrangement of stones laid out in a sacred-geometry pattern and set with a single intention. The geometry is believed to link the stones so they work together rather than alone. This tool computes a grid tailored to you: the geometry, the stones, where to place it, and when to activate it.
How does this crystal grid generator work?
It reads three things and synthesizes them: your Life Path number (from your birth date, in the Pythagorean tradition), your Chinese five-element (五行) phase (from your birth year), and your chosen intention. From those it selects a centre stone, an amplifier, an element balancer, and supporting stones, arranges them in the matching geometry, and finds your placement direction and activation timing.
Which crystals does it choose from?
Every stone comes from a curated palette of widely-available crystals (Citrine, Rose Quartz, Black Tourmaline, Amethyst, and more), so any grid it generates is one you can actually build. The centre stone is the master for your intention; the inner ring amplifies and balances your element; the outer ring supports.
Is the free reading the whole grid?
The free reading shows your power stone, your elements, your best direction, and the full mandala. The complete custom grid reading adds every stone and why it is yours, the room-by-room placement, the new-moon, full-moon, and planetary-day timing, your daily practice, and a shoppable kit list.
Do you store my birth date?
No. The free reading is computed entirely in your browser and nothing is sent to a server or stored, unless you choose to give your email for the full reading.
