A BaZi Reading of About 80 Pages on Your Decades, Work, Money, and Relationships

Each Luck Pillar governs roughly a ten-year window, eight pillars covering most of a life. The direction of the sequence is set by the polarity of your YEAR STEM combined with the sex recorded on your birth record, the classical Zi Ping 子平 rule, and the reading prints the four-row rule table with your own row marked so you can check it. Each pillar is read against the Ten Gods (十神) to name the theme of every decade. This is the longest section of the reading.

Each year carries its own Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch. The reading takes five forward years through three lenses: the year stem's Ten God against your Day Master, which gives the year its governing flavor; the year branch against your natal branches, the Tai Sui (太歲 Tài Suì) relationships of clash (沖 chōng), harm (害 hài), harmony (合 hé), the year-branch match the tradition names Zhi Tai Sui (值太歲), and the exact-repeat echo Fu Yin (伏吟 Fú Yín); and the year's elements against your favorable element. It never names events; it names what the year is for.

The single element the chart most needs to come into balance, the central interpretive judgment in classical BaZi, and the one the Di Tian Sui treats as the heart of the reading. The reading names your primary and complementary elements, then carries the prescription into a full application table: the colors to wear, to surround yourself with, and to use sparingly, the compass directions to face, the classical double hours (時辰 Shí Chen), and the matched stones. The classical posture is to live with the prescription, not to chase it.

A month-by-month calendar for the year ahead: each of the twelve solar-term months (月令 Yuè Lìng) scored against your favorable and limited elements to mark it supportive, demanding, or neutral, with the month's governing god named against your Day Master. Each month opens at its month-opening solar term (節 Jié), not on the calendar first. It names what each month is for, never specific events, dates, or outcomes.

Year and month pillars are set by the solar terms, with Li Chun (立春) as the year boundary, computed from ephemeris-derived term instants rather than rounded calendar dates. The Luck Pillar direction follows the classical Zi Ping rule of year-stem polarity plus the marker on the birth record, and the starting age counts to the month-opening term (節 Jié). The Hour Pillar is computed from the clock time you provide, and the reading says so plainly when a time sits near a branch boundary.

Your four pillars read a second time, as palaces. The Year palace for ancestry and the first outward-facing self, the Month palace for upbringing and the career engine, the Day palace for the closest relational field, the Hour palace for what comes later. Each row names its branch, its governing god, its domain, and the chief pattern touching it. Where no birth time is on file, the Hour row prints its unavailable state rather than an invented reading.

Before the prescription, the geometry. Classical Zi Ping reads the chart's characters against each other: combinations (合 hé), clashes (沖 chōng), harms (害 hài), breaks (破 pò), and punishments (刑 xíng). Each line names the pattern in plain English first, with the classical label alongside, and where several relationships compete for one branch the reading says so, because their order of precedence is itself a school question.

The wealth element is the one your Day Master controls, and the classical sources meet it in two forms: Direct Wealth (正財 Zhèng Cái), the committed, steady-accrual form the Zi Ping Zhen Quan ties to salaried work and long-horizon assets, and Indirect Wealth (偏財 Piān Cái), the opportunity-shaped form the Yuan Hai Zi Ping ties to ventures and value caught in motion. The reading locates each one by pillar and stem, weighs which carries your chart's attention, and says which arrival pattern the chart actually places. Capacity and attention, never an amount.

Two lists, offered as a modern reading of the classical element rather than a classical prescription: the industries of least resistance, whose daily texture already carries your favorable element, and the rooms where the same effort prices higher, built on the elements your chart over-serves. There is deliberately no avoid-list. Any industry can be worked from any chart; these are only the rooms whose weather already leans your way.

Your Day Branch read as the seat the classical sources call the spouse palace: its element, its hidden stems, and every supportive current and point of friction the rest of the chart brings to it. Alongside it, the classical spouse star, Wealth (財 Cái) for a male chart and Officer (官殺 Guān Shā) for a female chart, which is the second and last thing the sex on your birth record is used for. The chapter reads the field you bring to closeness. It never names a person, times an event, or measures anyone's worth.

One stem's row varies by school, and stating which school the reading follows is part of the method.
