What Mars reveals in your chart

Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun, and in traditional Western astrology it carries the principle of action, assertion, and desire. In Capricorn Mars is exalted, its most disciplined and effective expression. In Taurus, Libra, and Cancer it works through less native terrain. Chris Brennan, in Hellenistic Astrology (2017), traces these patterns to ancient sources where Mars was named the lesser malefic, the more challenging of the two difficult planets.
