What is trine?
A trine is an aspect of 120 degrees between two planets, usually in signs of the same element. In traditional Western astrology, trines describe natural harmony, energies that flow together easily and indicate innate gifts or talents.
The trine is widely considered the most harmonious of the major aspects. The chart suggests that two planets in trine cooperate without conscious effort. A Sun-Jupiter trine often correlates with natural optimism; a Venus-Moon trine often correlates with effortless emotional warmth. The energies fit without friction.
In traditional Western astrology, trines are gifts, but they also have a shadow.
